The Sanguine Program staff will contact participants via phone who have signed up using the program-specific registration page to review the program, answer any questions and discuss next steps. If the participant decides to become a volunteer donor after this call, this participant will then receive an electronic Informed Consent and Authorization form to review. After the participant has signed the e-consent form, the Sanguine program staff will call the donor to evaluate donor inclusion/exclusion criteria. The following criteria must be met by donors to participate in this program:

 

You may participate in the program if you:

1. Understand the provided procedures and requirements of the Program by providing written informed consent and authorization

2. Are a male or female over the age of 18

3. Are a BI U.S. employee and able to provide appropriate photo identification

4. Are in general good health

 

You may NOT participate in the program if you have:

1. An uncontrolled medical condition or significant health issue defined as any of the following:
a) A medical complication resulting in a hospitalization or urgent care visit within the last six months
b) Any changes in prescribed medications or treatments within the last six months

2. A history of liver disease

3. A history of unusual bleeding or bruising

4. Received an investigational product within 30 days prior to blood draw

5. Experienced excessive blood loss

6. Donated blood that would equal or be greater than donating more than four times in a 30-day period from your last donation or donating more than 120 mL within a 6-week period

7. An acute illness (e.g., flu) within 30 days of blood draw

8. A history of fainting or other adverse events when donating blood

9. A current viral or bacterial infection

10. A known history of HIV, hepatitis or tuberculosis viruses

11. A current pregnancy
